Sinopsis

El presente libro investiga la evolución del acceso abierto a la información científica relacionada con el medio ambiente en los países miembros de la Organización del Tratado de Cooperación Amazónica entre 2021 y 2023. Como objetivo tiene identificar patrones de producción científica en acceso abierto, así como las barreras y oportunidades que presenta este modelo para fomentar la investigación colaborativa y apoyar la conservación de la región amazónica. Mediante un análisis bibliométrico basado en el protocolo PRISMA, se analizaron más de mil publicaciones científicas disponibles en acceso abierto. Los resultados indican que Brasil es el principal productor de investigación en la región, seguido de Colombia y Ecuador, aunque aún persisten importantes desafíos como la brecha digital y la falta de infraestructura en otras zonas amazónicas. La discusión resalta cómo el acceso abierto ha facilitado la cooperación internacional, aunque se advierte que las disparidades en la disponibilidad de recursos limitan el impacto del conocimiento generado. En conclusión, el estudio subraya que el acceso abierto es esencial para promover la investigación y la toma de decisiones informadas en la Amazonía, pero se requiere un esfuerzo conjunto para superar las barreras estructurales que afectan la difusión equitativa del conocimiento científico en la región.
